Greetings from Ghana! August 2010 We are excited about the construction that is beginning on the new auditorium at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. The Lord answered prayer concerning the purchase of the corner of an adjacent lot to the church property. The church was able to buy the 41 ft. x 17 ft. corner needed to locate the new 72 ft. x 35 ft. structure. Our men have already dismantled the old auditorium framework and cleared the debris. The men are trying to salvage some of the timber for use in the new building. We began digging footings for the foundation on Monday, August 9th. Please pray that additional funds will come in so that we can complete the project before the end of 2010. Another one of our graduates will be ordained by Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in October. His name is Evans Benyah. He is a good preacher and is serving as an assistant to Pastor Abbey and myself at Mt. Calvary. 'Lord Willing, Evans plans to plant a church and is seeking the Lord, in prayer for guidance in selecting a location. In July, we celebrated our seventh anniversary at MCBC with five days of special preaching services. Our small Sunday School room was overflowing each evening with people sitting on the outside. Pastor Abbey was excited about the good attendance and the exceptional preaching during the week. We hosted an evangelistic team from MTT ministries the week of July 30th through August 9. Bob Landis and his wife, Joyce, are faithful servants of the Lord and good friends to this ministry. The thrust of their ministry is encouraging young people to serve the Lord in full-time ministry through mission trips to countries around the world and in the U.S. Through our email prayer updates, many of you are aware that Sheila traveled to the U.S. to assist our daughter, Robbin, since two of her daughters, Olivia [4] Jordan [31 were hospitalized at the same time with multiple infections. Both granddaughters cystic fibrosis patients and require a lot of specialized care. They have been on intravenous antibiotics for over a month and the most recent x-rays on August 4 revealed a progressive improvement. We praise the Lord for answered prayer. Also, please pray for my 89 year old mother, Evelyn Davis, who has been in extreme pain because of her sciatic nerve. Lord willing, she will be 90 years old in January 2011. Sheila will be spending some days with her and our daughter Angie and her family before returning to Ghana. Thanks for your faithful support, both prayerfully and financially!
Love in Christ, Ray & Sheila Davis
