June, 2010 Going straight to the point, let us thank you for your continued prayers and support for the ministry God has given. The exciting-blessings of the Lord this month include: Twenty-one new candidate missionaries approved by the Trustees of BIMI. With these new folk we now have missionaries on the field or headed to the field in 100 countries of the world. We are grateful to the Lord of the harvest for those going out to reach the "unreached peoples" of the world. BIIMI has been, for fifty years, about the task of reaching the unreached wherever they are found. Patsy and I had the privilege of leading three Hispanic ladies to the Lord as they came during the invitation in the Spanish ministry of the Tabernacle Baptist' Church in Hickory, NC. It is a great blessing to see what God is doing in the Spanish work under the leadership of Pastor Jose Sarria and know that Pastor Scott Hooks continues to encourage them in reaching the Hispanics of many nations residing in Hickory. Of course about half of my preaching ministry is in Spanish both here and in Latin America A special blessing to me is the fact that a sister missions agency asked for 30 copies of my book, "The basics of Church Planting" so they can be taught to their new missionaries. The truths in the book are very basic but foundational to planting new churches. We will need to do a reprinting of the book as this leaves us with only about 6 copies. Pray. I have also been asked to write a Spanish version of this church planting book. I have begun work on these materials. The first copies will be used in the new Bible Institute in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua. I am praying I might be able to go down the Puerto Cabezas for the ending of the first school year for the Institute. Pray for the writing and publication of the church planting book in Spanish but also for the possible trip to Nicaragua. Missionaries Al Clark and Bob Garrett and I have been working to re-establish the Spanish fellowship meetings among the many Hispanic ministries and churches in North and South Carolina as well as TN., GA., and even Virginia. The next meeting will be held in September in Easley, SC at Brother Sergio Villazana's church, "La lglesia Palabra de Vida". The 15th of July, Patsy and I celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We are grateful to God for His grace and kindness to us. Forty-three of these years have been in missionary service. |
