Dear Praying Friends, May/June 2010 In our last prayer letter I spoke of the drought we were experiencing here in Trinidad. These past two months, however, the rainy season has returned with a vengeance! We have had rain on a near daily basis, and we are praising the Lord for it! I have gone from not having to mow the lawn for months to mowing it out of necessity at least once a week. Services these past two months have been great! We had a wonderful Mother's Day service, with a full auditorium, and we honored each mother present with a small gift. We were also blessed, in the month of May, to have our pastor's daughter and a young man from our sending church visit us for a short missions trip. We had a great time showing them around the island, introducing them to different Trini foods, and of course showing them a little of what life is like on the mission field. In June, we concluded both our TeamKids and Agents for Christ meetings. Our TeamKids were awarded extra points for bringing their parents for the award ceremony, so we once again had a full house. Throughout the year our children earned TeamKid "dollars" by attending meetings, learning verses, coming to church, and taking notes. The last night they cleared out their "accounts" buying all sorts of prizes. Everyone had a great time and heard a clear presentation of salvation. Our teenagers also did a great job earning points toward a zip line activity at the camp above our church! We also had a great Father's Day. What a blessing it was to see several dads in attendance that do not usually come. That night, we were blessed to hear missionaries Stephen and Leesha Johanitan, native Trinidadians, present their burden for the people of Guyana. It was amazing to see our "mission" church respond so sacrificially to send the gospel to others who have never heard. Please keep our upcoming VBS in your prayers. For one week only, Arouca Baptist Church will be turned into Water Works Park. This is especially fitting since just a few days ago, our church nearly burned to the ground! (More to come on that exciting story in our next newsletter.) We also have a missions team coming at the end of July to help make some much needed repairs to our church building. Pray for their safety, that much will be accomplished, and that souls will be saved. Once again, thank you for your prayers, and for letting us be your missionary representatives!
