The Noriega Family                                                                                                                  June 2009

We continue to see tremendous spiritual growth in the people we are working with. Since the last letter I wrote you I have performed two weddings. Edgar and Cesar are brothers that were saved and baptized here in this church, but were living with their girlfriends with which they had babies. Both couples now know the LORD as their Savior and are now married because they wanted to get that right with the LORD in their lives.

We also continue to see new families arrive and stay in the church as well as to grow spiritually. These new families have been young couples with young children that fill the church with the healthy and joyful sound of kids laughing and enjoying life. My daughter Sarah who teaches the Jr. Church kids is having a great time; she really enjoys kids and is planning to study early childhood education in college.

Elvis is really growing and becoming quite the spiritual leader. He is now teaching every other midweek service and will probably be completely taking over the midweek service by the time the next News/Prayer letter gets sent. After that he will begin taking turns with me in the Morning service until he is fully integrated and leading the services and the church. This will happen gradually heading toward our goal of early to mid next year.

We are seeking the LORD as to our next ministry. The mission has opened up to the idea of the Spanish speaking church planters (if It's the LORD'S will for them) starting Spanish ministries in established U.S. churches as a part of an existing church not an autonomous work. The missionary would start the ministry, train up a God given leader and then leave that Spanish speaking ministry to the church.

I really believe this is very beneficial and an ideal way to accomplish The Great Commission. Being able to invite friends, co-workers and even the spouse of another language to church, under the same roof, at the same time, is a tremendous convenience (if the space will allow it). This is something that will work only if its' the LORDS will. There must be a shared vision and cooperation between the ministries. Pride, jealousy or selfishness on the part of either can sabotage the efforts.

Until the next letter, on behalf of Iglesia Bautista La Gran Comision and my family,

Thank u for all you do!
